Norway Adventure

Hello and greetings from the "Top of the World" today we are in North Cape ..... the town we are docked in is Honningsvag,(only 1311 miles to the Northpole)  one of the most northerly towns here in Norway.  It has been a fantastic 6 days since we left Bergen we have seen some outstanding scenery, the weather has been not bad, with only one rainy day the rest have either been sunny or cloudy. Tomorrow we dock at our last port, Kirkenes, then we head back south, calling at the same ports again but most of them at different times than before so some of them we see during the day rather through the night, there is one highlight coming up and that is the Trollfjord,  we came through at 23.30 northbound and it was spectacular, a very narrow channel and just to make it more exciting the Captain does a 360 degree turn !!! was impressive in the dark ... should be sensational in daylight. A couple of days ago we crossed the Arctic Circle, they had a "celebration" on board known as the "baptism" .... if you enjoy getting ice down your neck, then be at the front of the line ...  mind you there was a few of my group joined in ... well done to them, of course baptism or not we all received a Certificate .... showing we had crossed the Arctic Circle. I do have a lot of pics to post but may do them over a couple of days, probably take that long to get them downloaded ... internet is free on the ship; but it is slow ... see how I get along. The food on board is equal - or better - than that of any fancy big cruise ship, and definitely better than anything NCL could serve.(probably shouldn't have said that .... as I am with them next month !!) well done to all the catering and restaurant team on board the MS Polarlys, you are doing a great job.... something I have found quite amusing today is during our time here in Honningsvag, the locals have come on board for lunch in the Cafe .... I suppose its somewhere different for them to go on a Saturday afternoon. Okay time to go ..... enjoy the photos, remember if you like them, just cut and paste and they are yours ... no fee .... yet !!! LOL. Have a good weekend, come back again soon now .....
