Vietnam and Cambodia - Hue

Greetings, again from Hue ... just a short day today, started by a visit to the Citadel, (The seat of the Nguyễn emperors was the Citadel, which occupies a large, walled area on the north side of the Perfume River. Inside the citadel was a forbidden city where only the emperors, concubines, and those close enough to them were granted access; the punishment for trespassing was death. Today, little of the forbidden city remains, though reconstruction efforts are in progress to maintain it as a historic tourist attraction. and then onto Thien Mu Pagoda (is a historic temple in the city of Huế in Vietnam. Its pagoda has seven storeys and is the tallest in Vietnam. The temple is often the subject of folk rhymes and ca dao about Huế, such is its iconic status and association with the city.[1] It is regarded as the unofficial symbol of the former imperial capital. The pagoda sits on the Hà Khê hill, in the ward of Hương Long in Huế. It is around 3 km of the Citadel of Huế constructed by the Nguyễn Dynasty and sits on the northern bank of thePerfume River.

We finished the morning with a 45 minute cruise on the Perfume River, back into Hue. Then it was on to lunch at the Club Garden in Hue.... todays menu ...  Noodles
with shrimp soup, Fried Spring Rolls, Grilled Chicken with Lemon Grass, Fried fish with garlic, chilli. Stir Fried shrimp with garlic, sauteed squid with onions, sauteed mixed vegaetables, Steamed Rice. Fresh Fruit, and as usual a nice cold beer !!!

A free afternoon and another early night I think... a nice drive tomorrow to the next destination of Hoi An.

See you there ...
