Vietnam and Cambodia - Hanoi/ Halong Bay

Hello, just back from a day trip Halong Bay which is about 100 miles/160km from Hanoi this is a beautiful part of Vietnam. The is part of UNESCO and has hundreds of islands and even more junkets taking around tourists, unfortunately we were just cruising for 3 hours but you can stay on some of the big boats for 1-3 days that would just be wonderful as the accommodation on board is as good as any 4 star hotel, would highly recommend some time in this area. The journey to Halong Bay, took us through some large agricultural areas, there are "paddy fields", lettuce fields and lots more ... the journey is about 3 hours from Hanoi, on the way we stopped at a Humanity Centre Hong Ngoc, here they have a large selection of handicrafts all made by the victims and descendants of those affected by Agent Orange. Once we arrived at the Tourist harbour we boarded our boat (junket) no 59 for the cruise, once on board and under way we had an excellent seafood lunch ... baked crab, calamari (squid) I actually tried some .... rubbery and tasteless !! Vietnamese spring rolls, cabbage and sticky rice, sea bass and king prawns. After an excellent cruise we returned to Hanoi.... an early night as we have an early flight in the morning to our next destination Hue.
